Podium For Johann Zarco In Moto 2 Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli

The AirAsia Caterham Moto Racing Team were rewarded with their second podium of the season with rider Johann Zarco claiming third place at Misano. Starting from sixth on the grid, the Frenchman showed his strength from the start. Determined not to let the front riders go, Zarco pushed hard to run with the leaders, maintaining a strong pace and holding his third position until the chequered flag. Newcomer to the team Ratthapark Wilairot struggled off the line, but pushed throughout the twenty six lap race to achieve his fastest time of the weekend and bring the Caterham Suter home in twenty third place.

Pata Honda rider Michael van der Mark is the 2014 FIM World Supersport champion after winning today’s ninth round race at Jerez in Spain. Starting from pole position, the 21-year-old Dutch rider got a good start but ran wide going into turn one at the 4.423km Jerez circuit. There followed 19 laps of nail-biting racing between van der Mark, his championship rival Jules Cluzel and Florian Marino, who finished in third place today.

James East had his second outing for ILR Kawasaki, as Round 9 of the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship took place on the world stage at the weekend as support to the British MotoGP round at Silverstone.

Experienced duo deputise for injured Carr and Cooper. Veteran British Superbike stars Glen Richards and Scott Smart will join the Anvil Hire TAG Racing squad for this weekend’s three-race meeting at Oulton Park in Cheshire, replacing injured team riders Mitchell Carr and Richard Cooper. The experienced duo were first team-mates at the factory Hawk Kawasaki team in 2003, delivering results on the aging 750cc ZX-7RRs against the 1000cc superbikes, before turning the first generation ZX-10Rs into race winners the following season.
